What this site collects.

Short version: nothing, until you either accept analytics or send us a message. No advertising, no data brokers, no profiles.

Analytics, only with your consent

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people actually read. Alongside the page view, we record which buttons and links were pressed: the wording of the button, where on the page it sat, and where it pointed. It tells us whether the parts of the site people use are the parts worth keeping. It does not run until you press Accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics script is fetched and no analytics cookie is written. That is enforced in code, not by a setting we promise to honour.

If you accept, Google sets the following cookies in your browser:

CookiePurposeExpires
_gaDistinguishes one browser from another2 years
_ga_<id>Keeps session state for this property2 years

Google processes that data as our processor, and may store it outside your country. When a message is sent we record that one was sent and which subject you picked from the dropdown, and nothing else from the form: no name, no email address, no message text. IP anonymisation is on. We look at totals, not at individuals, and there is no advertising, remarketing or profiling configured on this property.

Changing your mind

Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. Use cookie settings to reopen the banner and choose again, or clear this site's data in your browser. Blocking cookies for this site works too, and nothing on the site breaks if you do.

The contact form

If you send a message, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you typed. That is the whole of it. It reaches us two ways: our host Netlify records the submission, and it is forwarded to support@calveralabs.com.

We use it to answer you, and to keep the thread if the conversation continues. We do not add you to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list. Ask us to delete a submission and we will, and it takes one reply.

What your browser stores

Two things are kept on your device and never sent to us:

  • calvera-theme, which remembers whether you chose light or dark.
  • calvera-consent, which remembers your analytics choice so the banner stops asking.

These are local storage entries, not cookies. They stay in your browser and clearing site data removes them.

Server logs

Netlify serves this site and, like every web host, keeps short-lived request logs that include IP addresses. We do not build profiles from them and we cannot use them to identify you. That processing is Netlify's, under their own terms as our hosting provider.

What we never do

  • Sell or share data with brokers. There is nothing to sell and no arrangement to sell it under.
  • Run advertising or remarketing pixels. There are none on this site.
  • Track you across other websites.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@calveralabs.com and a person will answer. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, the GDPR gives you those rights and a right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Our own apps

This page covers this website. The apps we publish are a separate matter and are stricter still: they carry no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no third-party trackers, and an account is only ever asked for where the app genuinely cannot work without one. See the apps

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top changes and, where consent is involved, we ask again rather than assuming the old answer still applies.
