About

Independent. Deliberately small.

Calvera Labs is a software studio in Bangalore, building mobile apps for people who are tired of being the product.

The studio started for a simple reason: the apps we wanted did not exist, and the ones that came close were ruined by everything bolted on around them. A timer that needed an account. A notes app that synced to somebody else's analytics pipeline. A planner with a streak counter engineered to make you feel bad on a Tuesday.

So we build the alternatives. Small tools, sharply scoped, that open fast and do the thing they promised. Calvera Labs is self funded and has no outside investment, which means there is no growth target forcing features nobody asked for into an app that was already finished.

Staying small is the strategy, not a stage we are trying to grow out of. Fewer apps, maintained longer, by the people who wrote them.

Values

Four rules we actually hold to.

01

Focused by design

Each app does one job. When a feature does not serve that job, it does not get built, however loudly it is requested.

02

Privacy as default

Our apps carry no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no third-party trackers. Where an account exists at all, it is because the app cannot work without one.

03

No dark patterns

No fake urgency, no buried unsubscribe, no notification designed to pull you back in. Leaving is as easy as arriving.

04

Built to last

We ship a small number of apps and keep maintaining them through OS releases, rather than abandoning them for the next launch.

Distribution

Where to find our apps.

Every Calvera Labs app is listed here on the website, and distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. There is no side-loading, no third-party store, and no separate paid "pro" download.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

What apps does Calvera Labs make?

Calvera Labs is building five mobile apps: Pupkin, a learning app for children aged 6 to 8 built around a puppy that grows as practice gets done; FocusFlow, a focus timer bound to a task list; VaultNote, an end-to-end encrypted note-taking app; DayStack, a single-day planner that hides tomorrow until tomorrow; and PingCheck, uptime and endpoint monitoring for phones. Each one targets both iOS and Android.

Is Calvera Labs a real independent developer?

Yes. Calvera Labs is an independently run software studio based in Bangalore, India. It is deliberately small and self-funded, with no outside investment and no plans to grow into an agency. Apps are designed, built and supported by the same people who ship them.

Do Calvera Labs apps collect personal data?

No. The apps carry no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no data sold to brokers, and where an app syncs data it is encrypted on your device before it leaves it. Most of them work offline and need no account at all. Pupkin is the exception, and only because the law requires a parent's verifiable consent before a children's app collects anything: the parent holds the account, the child never gets a login, and the app asks for a first name and an age range and nothing else.

What platforms do Calvera Labs apps run on?

Every Calvera Labs app targets both iOS and Android, and is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Store links for each app are listed on the Apps page as they become available.

How do I get support for a Calvera Labs app?

Email support@calveralabs.com or use the contact form at calveralabs.com/contact. Support is answered directly by the people who build the apps, not an outsourced help desk, so bug reports reach someone who can fix them.
